2009 Executive Board

Jeremy Baras

Jeremy Baras is the President of UVMtv. He bears a striking resemblance to a cartoon character with a similar hair style (see picture below).

His primary responsibilities include saying the word “word,” and ending each email with the phrase “”do work.” Unfortunately for him, none of the executives read his emails, so in reality, whenever he sends one out, he is essentially talking to himself, six times.

Jeremy claims to know every word to every Backstreet Boys song ever written. He has yet to grasp that that is not something to be proud of. Outside of the studio, he enjoys long walks on the beach,  serenading Patrick Tracy, and comparing hair height with Sunny Dayz.

Anja Sturies

Anja (pronounced “Ahn-yuh”), a junior at the University, serves as our Vice President of Business Operations. Since her name is often found to be confusing to pronounce, if you call her by one of these names, you should be good:

•    Ginger
•    Sturies
•    Stories
•    Wolfgang

As the V.P. of B.O., her primary responsibilities include dealing with all UVMtv budgetary issues, cleaning the UVMtv studio, giving her opinion about everything, and arguing with Zach.

Anha has never done anything other than UVMtv-related work in her entire life. Seriously. Her first word was “uvmtv” (pronounced “uhhhvimmtiv”). Thus, she does not do anything else with her life. If you have suggestions of what she should do when outside the studio, email her at asturies@uvm.edu.

Jake Estes

Jake Estes serves as our Vice President of Creative Development. He bears a striking resemblance to our weatherman, Sunny Dayz.

His primary responsibility is to develop things creatively. He does this using quick wit, slick dance moves and his electromagnetic hair. Seriously. That thing is a rock. You can bounce laser beams off it. You can hear it sleep at night. It even has its own language.  It’s real, it’s large, and it’s greasy (yes, we mean his hair, not Jake himself. That’s just wrong.).

Nicknamed “Jestes,” Jake is a Film and Television studies major at UVM. In his free time, he enjoys acting, directing films, rapping, playing sports and having a killer time.

Zach Borst

Zach Borst is the clubs Director of Operations. He is the oldest member of the exec board. By about five years. No, the other executive’s are not that young. He is that old.

In his off time he is running into burning houses and rescuing cats out of trees. It takes a lot to shake him and he tends to speak his mind whether anyone wants to listen or not. If no one listens than his sarcasm and quick wit come out, particularly when he is doing everything in his power to bypass bureaucracy, committees, and anyone who disagrees with him.

A self proclaimed “tech geek”, Zach and Erik are usually found giggling like school kids playing with the clubs new “toys”.

Erik Ryden

Erik, a sophomore at UVM, is a Psychology/Economics double Major with a Business Administration Minor. Don’t ask him why. This is his second year with UVMtv, after being the only freshman last year. Erik hails from Pepperell, MA which he thinks is a nice quaint little town.

This year Erik will take over as the Technical Director. Erik’s job is primarily mess around with the equipment, operate the server, edit things, and provide witty and sarcastic comments, often directed at Jeremy or Anja. He also has a pretty good idea about how to produce shows, so if you have an idea or need help, you should probably come to him.

When not making shows with UVMtv, Erik can mainly be seen with the ladies. But seriously, he is probably playing lacrosse, Guitar Hero, memorizing the lyrics to the entire B-52’s discography and spending too much time thinking of what he does in order to fill out executive Bios.
