Get ready for UVMtv’s new lineup! Instead of having our quick news show every day, every Sunday we will have our amazing hour long news broadcast, UVM weekly. Replacing our daily news is Tech-no-logic and Jake’s new show on Monday, Bluesday Tuesday, The Cat’s Pulse with Jeremy on Wednesday, and some mystery show with Anja on Thursday. More shows to come! If you are interested in starting a live show, e-mail us at uvmtv@uvm.edu! Check out our full schedule on the “TV Guide” page.
Some of you may have noticed the UVMtv channels are down but we are working to get these back up for tonights first broadcast of the semester. Either way you can still watch us live online on the website. We will update as we get things figured out. If youre interested in joining UVMtv, we will have our first general meeting of the semester before the broadcast at 5:30pm in the studio which is on the first floor of the Davis Center across from the info desk.
Back from a nice long relaxing break, the UVMtv team is back in town to bring you more student created content on our channels. With many new projects in the pipeline, UVMtv looks forward to an excellent semester. Be sure to tune in to our nightly news updates starting today on channel 12 at 7 P.M. Keep watching!
The University of Vermont Woman’s basketball team moved into the National Top 25 polls this week, finishing at #24 overall. This is the first time the team has been in the top 25 in the last 17 years. We will have more on this story tomorrow night during UVM Today.
To UVMtv Nation:
I write you this from the friendly confines of my room in Boston. It’s been a long few weeks for us folks here at UVMtv–between finals, wrapping up our shows, starting up new shows, and saying goodbye to friends, colleagues and professors, its been a long few weeks. With that said, these last few weeks, and last few days in particular, have allowed me to look back on the semester and revel in all that we have accomplished thus far.
Our brand new, state-of-the-art studio is in a prime spot in the Davis Student Center. Through this resource, our membership and popularity as a TV station has grown immensely. It has also allowed us to create so many new shows, such as Tech-No-Logic with our technogeeks Zach Borst and Erik Ryden, and “Bluesday Tuesday” from Nectar’s where we broadcast the “Bookem Blues Band” every Tuesday night at 9pm. Both of these shows, the latter in particular, have proven to our viewers, but most importantly to ourselves, just how much we can do as a student members and how much we can expand as a station overall.
I implore you to watch “Bluesday Tuesday” when it comes back again in January. We also have many new shows lined up, including a sports show hosted by yours truly, a movie review show called “At the Movies with Jake Estes” (as you might be able to guess, it’s hosted by Jake Estes), as well as many, many more!
Until then, sit back and relax. Enjoy the the time with family and friends, and be safe. From all of us at UVMtv, happy holidays.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Baras
UVMtv President
Tonight, yet again, the UVMtv Crew will be going live from Nectars to present the Book ‘Em Blues Band. Make sure to tune in online at www.uvmtv.wordpress.com and click watch live to check out the amazing Book ‘Em Blues Band presented by UVMtv and WBKM!
Check out a clip from last nights live broadcast from Nectars where we saw the Book em’ blues band and guests all thanks to WBKM and Nectars. By the way, the band was freakin epic so you definitely go see them.
The national weather service in Burlington is calling for an additional 3-5″ of snow and sleet for today. Roads are quite slippery but all of UVM remains open and running as usual. We will update you during the day as we get any additional information. Tune into UVM Today at 7pm to get all of your winter weather information.
